- Conduct advanced screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Verify travel documents and identification against passenger manifests to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment while adhering to TSA Standard Operating Procedures
- Identify and resolve security threats through observation, detection, and proper escalation protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining professional demeanor during security interactions
- Document security incidents and screening activities in accordance with TSA reporting standards
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to address security concerns
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
