Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked baggage for explosives, weapons, and other prohibited items.
- Operate advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment to analyze images.
- Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Patrol screening areas to maintain a high level of security and order.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures according to TSA policies.
- Complete detailed reports and documentation as required.
- Assist in the removal and safe disposal of prohibited items.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for employment with the TSA.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Pass a background check, drug screen, and medical fitness for duty test.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to pass a vision test and meet medical requirements.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
