As a Security Screener, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the traveling public. You will work in a fast-paced environment using state-of-the-art technology to screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo. Responsibilities
- Operate Security Equipment: Utilize advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment to inspect passengers and baggage for prohibited items.
- Screening Protocols: Conduct random and targeted screenings to identify threats and enforce security directives consistently.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with travelers, answer questions, and explain security procedures with patience and courtesy.
- Situational Awareness: Monitor screening lanes for suspicious behavior and report any irregularities immediately to supervisors.
- Documentation: Accurately complete required reports and documentation regarding screening activities and equipment malfunctions.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal laws, TSA regulations, and agency policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Background Check: Ability to pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and a drug screen.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and pass a medical examination.
- Availability: Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
