Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to detect prohibited items in carry-on luggage and passenger belongings.
- Pat-Downs and Searches: Perform physical pat-downs of passengers and detailed inspections of baggage to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Passenger Assistance: Interact professionally and courteously with travelers, providing clear instructions and maintaining a calm demeanor during high-volume periods.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce security directives and regulations strictly, identifying and reporting any potential threats or irregularities immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately complete forms and logs related to screening activities, including the tagging and handling of prohibited items.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the functionality of screening equipment and report any malfunctions to the appropriate maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a federal background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Good vision and mobility are required.
- Record: No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
