Responsibilities
- Conduct Screening Operations: Perform thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked baggage using advanced X-ray equipment and walk-through metal detectors.
- Enforce Security Regulations: Adhere to strict security protocols and regulations to identify prohibited items and potential threats.
- Customer Service: Deliver professional and courteous customer service to travelers, providing clear instructions and assistance during the screening process.
- Equipment Operation: Monitor and operate screening technology, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, and explosives trace detection units.
- Document Verification: Verify identification documents and ensure compliance with TSA policies regarding travel authorization.
- Security Awareness: Maintain situational awareness to detect suspicious behavior or items and report them immediately to supervisory staff.
- Physical Readiness: Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods as required by the role.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a federal background investigation, including a criminal history check and fingerprinting.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, pass a medical exam, and meet vision and hearing standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
