Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo for prohibited items using X-ray scanners and manual inspection techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect threats and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Operate advanced detection equipment including metal detectors, CT scanners, and trace detection portals
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service to diverse travelers while maintaining professional demeanor
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to protocol
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding security procedures and passenger information
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new technologies
- Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- No criminal history (felony convictions disqualify)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
