Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen carry-on and checked baggage
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and body scanning of passengers as required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identification
- Monitor security checkpoints and report suspicious activities or items
- Provide clear instructions and assistance to passengers during screening processes
- Maintain accurate logs of screening activities and security incidents
- Adhere to all TSA policies, procedures, and security protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel as needed
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. National status
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer literacy for operating screening equipment
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
