Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Operate and maintain security equipment following TSA protocols
- Communicate clearly with passengers regarding security procedures and requirements
- Respond to security alerts and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of screening activities and incidents
- Work collaboratively with team members in a high-security environment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or national status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security technology systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be willing to complete TSA-mandated training program
