Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and walk-through detectors
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections when security alerts arise
- Operate advanced imaging technology and trace detection equipment
- Monitor security checkpoints for suspicious activity and respond to incidents
- Enforce TSA regulations while maintaining courteous passenger interactions
- Complete detailed security documentation and incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous security training and certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA's paid training program
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (4-6 hours)
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
