Responsibilities
- Operate advanced X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and baggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections per TSA protocols
- Monitor checkpoints for suspicious activity and implement security procedures
- Provide clear instructions to travelers regarding security requirements
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security escalations
- Participate in continuous security training and equipment updates
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and document handling skills
- Strong observational attention to detail
- Excellent communication in English (additional languages valued)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights/holidays
