Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screenings using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Perform physical pat-down searches and bag inspections according to TSA protocols
- Identify and report suspicious items or security threats to supervisory personnel
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and incident reports
- Provide clear instructions and courteous assistance to travelers during screening processes
- Operate and maintain security equipment with precision and attention to detail
- Adhere to all TSA policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Successfully complete TSA's paid training program (approximately 2-3 weeks)
- Must be willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid government-issued photo ID and proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
