Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections as required by protocol
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with proper escalation procedures
- Operate metal detectors and explosive detection systems with precision
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents and daily checkpoint operations
- Provide courteous customer service while enforcing federal security regulations
- Participate in mandatory recurrent training and certification updates
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required for federal employment)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and drug screening
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
