Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate advanced X-ray equipment and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items.
- Passenger Assistance: Assist travelers in a professional and courteous manner, providing directions and explaining screening procedures when necessary.
- Security Protocols: Enforce security regulations and directives consistently to ensure compliance with federal laws and agency policies.
- Report Writing: Document screening activities, observations, and incidents accurately and thoroughly in the appropriate electronic systems.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of screening equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team environment to maintain high operational standards and throughput.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting, drug screening, and credit check.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions without restriction.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Drug-Free: Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be able to remain drug-free for the duration of employment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
