Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify potential security threats or suspicious items
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations with professionalism
- Operate and maintain screening equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Complete detailed documentation and incident reports accurately
- Participate in regular training on security procedures and emerging threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSA Cred)
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn technical systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of TSA's Security Screener training program
