Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo to detect and prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas.
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment to identify potential threats.
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and provide excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols.
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities to supervisors.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness and respond to security alerts.
- Work collaboratively with other TSA agents and law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure environment.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is beneficial.
