Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and other TSA-approved screening equipment
- Conduct thorough physical searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor passenger flow and implement security checkpoints efficiently
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities per TSA protocols
- Maintain accurate screening logs and equipment maintenance records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Provide courteous customer service while enforcing security regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized equipment
- Pass TSA pre-employment medical examination and drug screening
