Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual inspection techniques
- Identify and report suspicious items, prohibited materials, and potential security threats according to TSA protocols
- Operate and maintain security equipment while adhering to all federal safety standards
- Provide professional customer service to travelers, assisting with security procedures and resolving concerns
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening logs and reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous security training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
