Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate walk-through metal detectors, trace detection equipment, and explosive detection systems
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining professional customer service interactions
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and potential security threats
- Document screening activities accurately in TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in continuous training on updated security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
