Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate metal detectors, explosive detection systems, and other security equipment
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections as mandated by TSA protocols
- Monitor airport operations and report suspicious activities to supervisors
- Provide courteous assistance to travelers with special needs or accessibility requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California driver's license preferred
