Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate metal detectors and trace detection equipment to identify potential threats
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining security screening efficiency
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities accurately in TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security concerns
- Continuously update knowledge on TSA security procedures and threat detection methods
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA Security Training Academy
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
