Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct pat-down searches and other security procedures as authorized
- Monitor security checkpoints and identify potential security threats
- Operate advanced screening technology including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide courteous assistance to travelers while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in mandatory security training and certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Valid government-issued photo identification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
