Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by security protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and report suspicious activities or items to supervisors
- Operate advanced screening technologies and maintain equipment calibration
- Enforce TSA regulations with professionalism while providing excellent customer service
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain security documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. National status required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background check and security clearance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English (written and verbal communication)
- Basic computer skills for reporting systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or certain misdemeanor offenses
