Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and advanced imaging screenings when required
- Operate security equipment including metal detectors, trace detection systems, and CT scanners
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Enforce TSA security protocols while providing courteous customer service to travelers
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Participate in continuous training on security procedures and emerging threats
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness skills
