Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray equipment and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to identify prohibited items
- Operate TSA technology systems including body scanners and explosive detection devices
- Enforce TSA security protocols and communicate procedures to travelers professionally
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA certification
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass medical examination including vision and hearing requirements
