Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Provide clear instructions to passengers while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor during screening processes
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities using TSA reporting protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to address security threats
- Participate in continuous training on updated security procedures and threat assessment techniques
Qualifications
- US citizenship and ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn TSA security software systems
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish fluency is a plus)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- No convictions for serious offenses (felonies, domestic violence, etc.)
