Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Manage security checkpoint operations and respond to suspicious activity
- Enforce TSA security protocols and maintain accurate incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders during security incidents
- Train on new technologies and security procedures as they evolve
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if required for position duties)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Proficiency in operating security screening equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
