Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless veteran care delivery
- Implement cybersecurity protocols for sensitive veteran health data in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Provide technical support for VA's integrated clinical and administrative systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop IT solutions supporting veteran healthcare access
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues affecting veteran services
- Train staff on new IT systems and healthcare technology best practices
- Ensure compliance with federal IT security standards and VA policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare IT systems administration
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Expertise in EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic) and healthcare data management
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy laws
- Experience with federal IT infrastructure and security protocols
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IT certification required
