As a Federal Job Specialist, you will play a critical role in the hiring process, ensuring that resumes are optimized to meet the strict standards of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
Responsibilities
- Resume Optimization: Analyze and rewrite resumes to align with Federal hiring standards and OPM qualification guidelines.
- USAJOBS Navigation: Guide applicants through the complex USAJOBS.gov platform, including profile setup and keyword optimization.
- Candidate Coaching: Conduct mock interviews using the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method to prepare candidates for federal panel interviews.
- Clearance Support: Advise candidates on security clearance requirements and background investigation processes.
- Agency Matching: Identify and match candidate skills with specific federal job openings and agency needs.
- Status Tracking: Monitor application status and provide regular updates to candidates regarding their hiring journey.
- Compliance: Ensure all documentation meets federal compliance and privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in federal recruitment, HR, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of USAJOBS.gov, federal hiring policies, and the GS (General Schedule) pay scale.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, persuasive tone.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to spot critical errors in resumes and ensure strict adherence to formatting requirements.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive personal and employment information with discretion.
- Location: Must be willing to work from our Dallas, Texas office or a hybrid remote setup.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
