Responsibilities
- Analyze federal/state legislation affecting city operations and prepare impact assessments
- Liaise with congressional offices, state agencies, and local stakeholders on policy matters
- Develop legislative strategies to advance city priorities including infrastructure and economic development
- Coordinate interdepartmental responses to government inquiries and audits
- Prepare testimony, reports, and briefings for city council and executive leadership
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise on compliance implications
- Represent the city at legislative hearings and public forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years government affairs or legislative experience
- Deep understanding of federal/state/local government structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with legislative tracking systems (e.g., Quorum, LegiScan)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Texas driver's license required
