Responsibilities
- Administer retirement plans for 50,000+ state employees across Louisiana
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Louisiana Revised Statutes
- Process pension applications, distributions, and benefit adjustments
- Conduct financial audits and actuarial valuations of pension funds
- Advise employees on retirement planning options and eligibility criteria
- Collaborate with HR departments and state agencies on policy implementation
- Generate comprehensive reports for legislative oversight and public transparency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years pension administration experience in government sector
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) preferred
- Expert knowledge of federal/state retirement regulations and reporting requirements
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
