Responsibilities
- Oversee the processing and verification of pension benefit applications and calculations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local government regulations regarding retirement plans and labor laws.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential records for all retirees and beneficiaries using state databases.
- Provide exceptional guidance and support to the public regarding pension inquiries, eligibility, and procedural questions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and finance departments to streamline administrative workflows.
- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks on pension data to minimize errors and prevent fraud.
- Assist in the development and updating of internal policy documents related to state benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3+ years of experience in government administration, finance, or benefits administration.
- Deep understanding of Georgia state government pension systems, HR policies, and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and government-specific case management software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on conflict resolution and customer service.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.
