Role Overview
The Government Analyst will be responsible for evaluating complex data sets, preparing reports for city officials, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role is critical in shaping policy and improving operational efficiency within the municipality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Data Analysis: Collect, interpret, and analyze statistical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for government improvement.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Assist in the development, drafting, and implementation of public policies and strategic plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure strict adherence to federal and state government regulations and internal city protocols.
- Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and briefings for city council members and executive management.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between various departments, external agencies, and the community to facilitate smooth operations.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current government processes and recommend data-driven solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government, public sector, or a related analytical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
