Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations and government policies.
- Collaborate with city departments and external contractors to coordinate project schedules and deliverables.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and public inquiries regarding city services.
- Enforce city ordinances and ensure compliance during daily operations.
- Assist in the procurement and inventory management of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, maintenance, or a related government sector role.
- Valid Class C Maryland Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of basic construction and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as needed.
- Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and record-keeping software.
