Responsibilities
- Manage and process government employee applications, records, and pension inquiries with high accuracy.
- Provide expert guidance to state employees regarding pension eligibility, vesting schedules, and retirement options.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Conduct audits and data analysis on payroll and benefits records to identify discrepancies.
- Collaborate with department heads to streamline HR operations and improve employee retention.
- Respond to complex inquiries from the public and staff regarding state benefits and pension plans.
- Maintain and update employee personnel files and pension documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Public Sector, or Pension Management.
- Strong working knowledge of Georgia state government payroll systems and pension regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft).
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Certified HR Professional (PHR/SPHR) is a plus but not required.
