Responsibilities
- Manage and administer the state pension plans, ensuring accurate calculations for retirement, survivor, and disability benefits.
- Review and process employee retirement applications, verifying all documentation for compliance.
- Provide expert guidance and support to state employees regarding pension eligibility and retirement planning.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources and Finance departments to resolve complex payroll and benefits issues.
- Stay current on changes in labor laws, ERISA regulations, and state pension policies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and databases related to employee retirement accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or Public Administration (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in government benefits, pension administration, or HR.
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Familiarity with government pension systems and compliance standards is highly desirable.
