Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned beats and neighborhoods to deter crime, enforce laws, and ensure public safety.
- Respond to emergency calls, including medical emergencies, accidents, and criminal activity, with prompt and professional action.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes and incidents to gather evidence and identify suspects.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports documenting incidents, arrests, and observations.
- Interact with the community to build trust, resolve conflicts, and provide education on crime prevention.
- Identify, detain, and arrest individuals suspected of violating local, state, or federal laws.
- Testify in court proceedings regarding cases handled during shifts.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship or legal permanent resident status.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a certified police academy or equivalent law enforcement training.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph exam and psychological evaluation.
- Ability to pass the physical agility test.
