Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Review engineering drawings and blueprints for technical accuracy
- Document violations and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Issue permits and ensure timely project completion
- Investigate citizen complaints related to infrastructure issues
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of inspections
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and MN statutes
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection databases
- Excellent written communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse construction sites
