Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Verify construction materials and methods meet city specifications and safety standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Enforce adherence to environmental regulations and project timelines
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Assist in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience in public sector
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License with clean driving record
- ICBO/ICC certifications in building inspection or related field
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ADA compliance
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
