Immediate Opening for Public Works Inspector
The City of Albuquerque is urgently seeking a highly motivated Public Works Inspector to join our Infrastructure Department. This critical role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on municipal construction projects. Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify construction work adheres to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies
- Issue notices of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate project documentation and inspection records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid New Mexico Inspector certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with inspection software and CAD systems
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and NM construction regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
