Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with plans and regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Enforce federal, state, and local building codes and safety standards
- Review permit applications and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
- Investigate complaints and address non-compliance concerns promptly
- Utilize GIS mapping and inspection software for project tracking
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- ICC certification (Building Inspector or Plans Examiner preferred)
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and Title 24 requirements
- Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and GIS systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift up to 25 lbs
