Responsibilities
- Manage and administer pension plan data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of all claims and benefits.
- Analyze actuarial reports and financial data to provide strategic recommendations to the finance and governance committees.
- Ensure full compliance with federal and state pension regulations, including ERISA and state-specific pension laws.
- Communicate complex pension information and policy updates clearly to employees, retirees, and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records and documentation to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Collaborate with the finance team to forecast future liabilities and manage budget allocations for pension funds.
- Stay updated on legislative changes affecting government pension structures and implement necessary process adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in government pension administration, actuarial science, or financial analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA, FERS, or state-specific government pension systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced pension management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or custom government systems).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with a high degree of self-discipline.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and security clearance.
