We are seeking a dedicated individual to ensure the accuracy and compliance of our pension calculations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex pension data and calculate retirement benefits for eligible state employees.
- Process retirement applications and manage documentation for the State Pension Plan.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations regarding employee benefits.
- Conduct audits of pension records to minimize financial discrepancies and errors.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to improve benefit programs.
- Provide expert guidance and support to retirees regarding their pension statements and questions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or public sector HR.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations and state retirement systems (CalPERS experience is a plus).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and financial software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
