Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Administer oaths of office for public officials and manage election processes
- Provide transparent public information requests while ensuring legal compliance
- Coordinate city council agendas, public hearings, and legislative documentation
- Serve as custodian of the municipal seal and official city documents
- Oversee records management systems and document retention protocols
- Facilitate public records requests and ensure timely responses
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expert knowledge of California Government Code and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in records management software and document retention systems
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Valid California driver's license
