Responsibilities
- Oversee all city record-keeping, including vital statistics, legislative archives, and public document management
- Administer municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives with precision
- Manage City Council operations, including meeting coordination, ordinance tracking, and public hearing logistics
- Serve as the official custodian of city seals, contracts, and legislative records
- Lead digital transformation of records systems while ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations
- Provide direct constituent support regarding municipal procedures, permits, and public records requests
- Collaborate with city departments on legislative compliance and records retention policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Expertise in Massachusetts election law and municipal code compliance
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Proven leadership in digital records modernization projects
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex legislation and ordinances
- Exceptional communication abilities for public presentations and constituent interactions
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation highly desirable
