Responsibilities
- Community Engagement: Interact with residents, businesses, and visitors to provide information, answer inquiries, and resolve complaints effectively.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of municipal programs and policies in alignment with city goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and city ordinances.
- Administrative Support: Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and correspondence; manage data entry and filing systems.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research to support decision-making processes and draft briefing materials for supervisors and elected officials.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate projects, meetings, and community events.
- Public Relations: Represent the City at community meetings, promoting transparency and fostering trust in local government.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
- Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen and a valid California resident.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public administration, customer service, or a relevant government sector role.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with government database systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing regulations.
