Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension benefit calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct thorough reviews of retirement applications, verifying eligibility and calculating final compensation packages.
- Respond to inquiries from current employees and retirees regarding pension plans, vesting, and payouts with professionalism and clarity.
- Maintain and update the state pension database, ensuring all records are current and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of new pension policies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual reports and statistical analyses related to pension fund performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government pension administration, public sector HR, or actuarial services.
- Strong working knowledge of ERISA regulations, FRS (Public Employee Retirement System), and state retirement laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential for data analysis) and pension administration software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality.
