Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate municipal equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., trucks, mowers, heavy machinery)
- Perform routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Assist in emergency response during weather events or public safety incidents
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated public projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate service records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
