Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment such as trucks, loaders, and hand tools
- Respond to emergency public works requests with urgency and professionalism
- Conduct regular inspections of city property to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and municipal standards
- Document work activities and maintain accurate records of equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, maintenance, or public works
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
