Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to potential threats with professionalism and calm under pressure
- Operate metal detectors, trace detection equipment, and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections when necessary
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate daily activity reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status with required documentation
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security card
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn security technologies
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
