Responsibilities
- Route Delivery: Sort and deliver mail and packages to customers' homes and businesses along a prescribed route.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Physical Stamina: Perform physical tasks including lifting packages weighing up to 50 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Time Management: Manage your delivery schedule efficiently to ensure all mail is delivered by the end of the day.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a USPS vehicle (car or van) and perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
- Record Accuracy: Maintain accurate records of delivery attempts and delivery confirmation receipts.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- License: A valid driver's license is required (depending on assignment).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screen.
- Physical Health: Ability to pass a physical examination demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Vision: Good near and far vision and color perception.
